The next few weeks are gonna be hectic for me as I prepare for the following events while moving from my current Midwood apartment to one in Carroll Gardens. Biting more than I can chew as always... here's where you should be if you don't want to be square:

The first is a solo show at Dragatomi in Sacramento on the 14th. I will have some nice surprises for this show and more info will be released in the weeks to come. I'm looking forward to heading over there as I've been itching to temporarily get out of NY for a while now.

I will also be hanging out in the Dragatomi booth during Designer Con (formerly VTN or Vinyl Toy Network) on the 21st.

And on the night of the 21st, starting at 7pm, the Urban Story Tellers show will be opening in Inkies. Thanks to Angelo Sison for a great job in curating this event. I will take pics of my piece before I send it out.

Urban Story Tellers will feature work by : Lil'Japan, Mark Navalero, Joey Boy, Orly Locqulao, Rowel Alfelor, Peap Tarr, Paul Shih, Patrick Francisco, Troy Stith, Anthony Catubig, Pellet, Tony Ancheta, Karl Vittali and Oliver Ocampo.

I know you've been on the edge of your seat waiting to see how those shows went and here I am late in posting about it. Shame on me but here ya go:

Looks like the 3D Canvas show was a success over at Terminal22 and they recap the event nicely here. It includes the following video which I share here to save you the trouble of clicking on the various links that clutter my paragraphs.

Over here on the East Coast, the sketch card show/auction included giant painted versions of the cards. Mine was a portrait of Darth Nihilus (below) and I was just told that it sold along with my sketch card of General Grievous. Photos of the show are here.

Urban Story Tellers

If you've spoken to me recently, I was probably complaining about moving and the shady management company associated with my old crappy building. I'm almost completely out of there and you can see Polly is as eager to leave as I am.

Buck 50 Brew Art Show

Last Wednesday marked the opening of the Buck 50 Brew Art Show at Pie in Union Square. The place was packed, the buck fifty brew flowed and pie was plenty. It was great to see old friends and meet new ones. I vaguely remember bubbles at the end of the night...

Mojo Jojo

I want Mojo Jojo as my pet - wish that he ran around my apartment being evil and talking ish. Here is my contribution to the 3D Canvas show curated by Nasty Neil at Terminal22 Gallery in Oakland. The show is sponsored by Strangeco so I took the opportunity to paint on Luey. Flyer and show info here.

For those that don't know, here is what the original Mojo Jojo character and Luey look like.

Edit: Bwahahaha... Brock Lesnar had a Luey head as a baby!

Terminal22 Gallery in Oakland, CA will be holding their 3D Canvas show next Friday. Curated by Nasty Neil and sponsored by Strageco. I am wrapping up my contribution and will be posting here as soon as it is complete.

Remember these sketch cards? More Suckadelic fun here in NY as some of the cards will be shown and auctioned to accompany an online auction for the remaining cards. Here is a WIP of my piece for the Suckadelic Group Suckoff Show 2. This figure is so detailed, it didn't allow me to draw/paint an image on the way I usually do. Turned out to be a cool challenge as I am finally sculpting on a custom. Final later this week.

The show will be on September 4th from 6-9pm.

But thanks to all who poked, messaged, commented, prank called just to make sure. I have, however, been lazy, burnt out, whining, and working (somewhat). For those that wanna know, I will be in the Suckadelic Group Suckoff 2 show early in September. I also just finished a piece for another group show that will be announced in the next few weeks - I can't say more or I will magically be turned into a frog. Then in November, I will have a small solo in Cali that I will talk more about as it gets organized and I create the work. I will be in attendance. See? Not dead... not yet. Here are some photos and a life drawing.

Started a Sketchbook

It's been a long time since, I've kept a sketchbook (apart from the one I bring to life drawing sessions), so it's about time I picked one up again. These pages are a combination of observed and imagined elements. I will try to consistently spend time on the sketchbook and post the results here.

Thought I would share this vid of that skull, orchid, bird mega munny to give an idea of how the separate elements appear in person. The vid is poor quality, but better photos of the item can be found here.
